To remove the case from an Aptiva tower unscrew the 2 screws just under the
handle at the top.  Now holding the base with one hand, pull the "handle"
toward you and it will slide off with some force.

It is not obvious to me how to open this IBM Aptiva tower case. Can
someone direct me?
The only 'screws' I can see are on the top just under the 'handle'. These
don't seem to 'release' the front or back. I can't seem to locate any
'latch' or similar tab. The tower case I am referring to, has a plastic
'lid' which slides up or down to cover the front of the drives.
