I don't have the icon you mention. I have followed the rest of the
instructions, but no joy thus far.
I.m feeling very very ignorant, but determide to get this working.
Thanjs for the help-my thought is to remove all the network settings and
start over.

Hi Hugh, I assume you used the Network wizard on your client (win98)
machine...so, does the little 'Internet Gateway' Icon display in the task
tray of the Client?  It should, and then when you want to connect to the
internet from the client, you can simply  right click on it and choose
'connect'...
