I have a client who wants to upgrade their HP Pavillion 8275. Memory and hard drive are no problem, but I'm having a little trouble figuring out a CPU upgrade. According to the specifications I found on-line I can boost the clock speed up to 83Mhz, and the highest multiplier is 5.0. It currently has a PII 300Mhz chip, but I should be able to upgrade it to a PII 400Mhz chip given the specifications. The on-line site information was really fuzzy (it had out-f-focus pictures), so I can't be sure that it said 83Mhz. Does anyone have any experience with CPU upgrades on these? Also, is there something I am missing or should know about with trying to use an 83Mhz bus on a PII 400 CPU? Thanks in advance.
