Hard drive recovery utility

How much are you willing to spend? On Track has recently acquired an app.
called "Tiramisu". Comes in two versions - Fat16 and Fat32. It's pretty
pricey and needs some work but is pretty powerful none-the-less. Their
engineers are hard at work on it now preparing it for the next release. You
can download the trial version and run it for free. Run a recovery and see
what files it is able to recover for you. (It won't let you copy the files
it's found until you register the program.)

Once you've registered it, you'll need to tag on another hard drive to complete
the recovery. Tiramisu has bailed me out a couple of times already since I
bought it (both versions). The initial purchase was a bit painful but I've
been greatful when I've had it to "turn to".

It works well unless you've been using a 3rd party partitioning utility to
stretch your partitions and/or if you have multiple Fats on your HD. In that
case, it gets a little hairy. Customer support is good, however, their techs
are still learning the app' as well. The On Track engineers really are
working on the next rev. On Track called me a couple weeks after my purchase to
ask for any input I might have into how the product might be improved or any
bugs I encountered. Sounds like they're really committed to improving on it.

Tiramisu is purely passive - won't manipulate any 1's and 0's on the hard
drive. If you're satisfied w/ its performance, you can purchase the program on
line. The key will be mailed to you.

Good Luck!
