I resolved my prob. after asking on the Pbell newsgroup
(alt.sys.pc-clone.packardbell).
  I got several helpful emails telling me that I just needed
 non-parity simms. Because of the angle of the single simms socket
 the simms have to be single-sided or they won't fit.
 Also had to buy 16mb cause 8mb non-parity is hard to find.

  I don't have the manual, client didn't have it.
 For some reason I can't get into PBells
 upgrade area by inputing the model#, but a kind soul emailed
 the url: http://support.packardbell.com/upgrades/PB410upg.asp

 Thanks;
