Two things come to mine for me. Unless you have subscribed to one of the
Internet phone services (VoIP) you will still need your fax modem to
send and receive faxes.
Secondly, if your fax modem is gone then you won't have back-up or a
possible second way to access to the Internet if or when your DSL goes off..
