I have an AthlonXP 1700+ (XP is the "low power" desktop family)
Is yours the same product "family" --- did they make Athlons that high?
Mine runs at 35*C and the case is 23*C
Converted to 95*F and the case to 73*F
(This is selectable and I assume the conversion is right...)

I do not see how it could or should be 95*F inside your case...
My CPU runs at 95*F, not my case.

This is with two case fans, two PS fans, one MB I/O chip fan,
and the Retail AMD CPU fan.

Where are you getting your numbers.?
Mine are from the BIOS screen(s), and later with the VIA
temp monitoring software in WindowsXP-Pro...
I also use MBM5 (a free program) but it reads higher (same sensors).
I have a stainless steel "physical" Air Conditioning duct type 6 inch
probe type thermometer stuck in the back of the case,
and it reads the same... (be careful at with this one at home).
I use two computers almost the same, and these numbers match...

I do not know if the sensors are accurate (for sure) but with the alarms
set to warn, I am only really looking for "changes" at this point...
This computer has BIOS power off if CPU fan spin rate fails.

Do you think of the operating temp of my Athlon 1400 of 52° cent,
with a 35° cent inside the case is OK? Would the addition of a second aux fan
be worthwile as I understand a temp of nearer 50° is more desireable.
