as a Secondary Master?

Yes but you must set the jumpers on the new hard drive for a slave setting.
Also realize that this will  move some of your drive letters around for
example if your cd rom is D: it will be moved to E:. This can cause a few
small problems on some things that may have been geared toward going to D:
automatically but you can usually go in and adjust those things pretty
easily.
