  OH.  MAC stands for "Media Access Control".

  The WINIPCFG command will show this for each active network
interface on a Win98 machine.  [It calls it "Adapter Address".]

  I'm curious about what kind of network infrastructure they have
that needs to know this (and isn't smart enough to "learn" it from
traffic on the network).  Presumably they're configuring a switch or
bridge that's a little on the old side.
