However, once you or a file opens up Real Player, it will be automatically
reactivated in your startup file and you will again need to deactivate it in
MSCONFIG. You get to MSCONFIG through 'start', 'run', 'startup'.

This is the perfect use for MSCONFIG.  You can disable it selectively
from the startup that way :)
