<<<< Any suggestions.>>>>

Just my two cents worth

(1)After powering up and GROUNDING YOURSELF PROPERLY place as much as possible the four fingers of one of your hands on the metal surface of your HDD. IF you can feel a slight vibration then your drive is not complete toast.

(2)the following web sites have freeware/ shareware (respetively)HDD diagnostic utilities which may help.

 (2a)www.passmarks.com/products/diskcheckup.htm

 (2b)www.ariolic.com/activesmart.

 (3) the following site has a wealth of info which should help.

http://techrepublic.com.com/5206-6230-0.html?forumID=5&threadID=171853&start=0

(4)If you or some friend is versed in LINUX o/s then boot from a linux bootable cd and trouble shoot your HDD and other hardware?

FWIW and wishing good luck----Venkat Viswanathan
