I've got the monitor driver, now the monitor is not a problem. But the computer
still refuse to stand-by, plus I just discoverd that there must be something
wrong, because I couldn't get 3dfx demo to play (it will display nothing but
black screen), even can't play directX game (I tested AoE and starcraft. for
AoE, all those intro movie cannot be played but the game play is ok; for
starcraft, nothing but black screen). I've reinstalled the video driver with no
luck. until now, nothing is shown wrong in device manager, what's the problem?

would reinstall win98 solve the problem? But reinstall would be a big lost for
me, I can't take it as a option until it has to be done.
