I have a Aopen/AK75 SiS 745 MB with an AMD 1700+ Athlon XP cpu running
on a generic case with a Real Power 230P/ATX power supply. My OS is RH
Linux 8. The problem is when I shutdown linux and the PC automatically
powers down, it won't power on again with the soft power button on the
front of the case. To power on the PC again I have to turn off the
power to the PC using the switch on my surge protector or the hard power
switch in the back of the case, wait about ten minutes, turn the hard
power on, and quickly hit the soft power button. At which point the PC
powers up normally. This is a convoluted way to turn on the PC. Does
anyone have any ideas what the problem is?
