I am a bit confused about what you want to do. If you make an image of your
old drive onto the new one, then you can remove the old drive and boot from
the new drive. The letter designation should be effective only while both
drives are installed.

If you truly want to change the drive letter of a drive, you can do this
using Disk Manager in XP. However, if you change the letter of a boot drive,
then you will need to make plenty of fixes in the registry - I speak from
experience!
