Hi,

I have had several Toshiba notebooks in the past few years and use them
as desktop replacements usually.  I use the laptop plugged in, charge
the battery fully (24hrs), and then remove it, and sit it on the shelf.


When I need to use it as a portable, I but the battery back in and run
it as needed. When I'm done using it as a portable, I let the battery
drain (leave laptop on - battery) way down and then charge it up again,
and remove it again while using as a desktop replacement and I have not
had any problems with the unit or any batteries.

I've just bought my first laptop (Toshiba) and have received mixed
messages on care of the battery (which I won't need to use very often).

A guy who earns his living troubleshooting computers told me to
routinely use my Toshiba not connected to electricity but to use it
until it beeps then connect/recharge.

However, when I researched laptop battery care on an internet tutorial,
the advice was to leave it plugged in during use.

Can someone please steer me in the right direction on this?
