Seems like since I started to "burnish" the contacts on my "ram" chips
one a year, I seem to have gotten rid of a lot of problems.
I do this with all the  isa and vl bus cards too.
Be careful while handling them ---  static electricity.
"Gold" chips should NOT need this.
And, are you mixing "gold" and "tin" -- chip to slot?
If so, check the Intel White Paper on that subject.
(They say don't)  I did -- don't now...
