Hello to all

My brother is having a very strange problem. He has a computer with two
sets of speakers, one for the sound blaster pro sound card and one for the
US Robotics fax/data/voice modem.

The system is a custom upgrade PII 233 with 64meg of ram. I used the old
sound card [sound blaster pro, 8 bit ISA] and HDD. The modem is new.

The odd thing on this system is that every 10 seconds, the speakers from the
sound card give off a beep. At first I thought he had a message on his
computer from the voice feature of the modem, but he says he does not.

I have not looked at this machine as it is 100 miles away, but I thought I
would ask the group for any suggestions before I do down to visit.

Has anyone run into a similiar problem, and if so how did you fix it.

TIA
Mike Buraczewski
