Andre:

A 24 bit display adapter is a card capable to generate 24 bits of colors
(or True Color).

The 24 bits are composed by:

8 bits for Red (256 posible values)
8 bits for Green (256 posible values)
8 bits for Blue (256 posible values)

So, you have a total of 256*256*256 posibles combinations.

Hi,

I know what a Monitor and a video card is, but what exactly is a 24 bit
display adapter?

Thank you for your help!
