Matthew,

Two possibilities that I have encountered have caused this problem for
me.  First, not likely, is a refresh rate too high for the monitor.  Try
reducing it in your video settings and see if it helps.  Second, more
likely, is the cable connecting the video card to the monitor is not tight
or has corroded connectors.  Check and clean the connectors to see if that
has an effect on the ghosts.
