Does anyone know of utility or diagnostic software that will identify the
specifications of RAM that is on a motherboard?

I did a Google search for "Memory identifying software" and came up with a
grip of sites that had something one way or another about testing and or
identifying memory. I'm sure you will find the information you're looking
for. There are sites that will help identify what you have in picture form
as well as text explaining what you have.

Another site to peruse is Crucial.com http://crucial.com This site with a
little information input will tell you what memory is compatible with your
board.

Belarc and AIDA will tell you that you have X amount of ram but will not
tell you if it's PC2600, 3200 or what.

Sincerely,
