No the computers have to have unique names. What I mean is to share files on
the NT type Oses (NT, 2000, XP) you need an account and a password.
I.e. machine one needs a user account  user ID: Bill1 password: password.
On machine 2 you would need to be logged on with that account so you could
access files on machine 1.

By common account do you mean the name given to the PC? Both PC have there
own name but are on a common network. If this isn't what you mean I would
appreciate your help.
