The books all seem to say that when this happens, the first thing to do is
clean the tape heads.

It is set up to run at night (2 am after Norton scan) and it used to run
fine.  Now, it locks up, won't finish running the backup and when it

to compare, it indicates that almost every file backed up has been
altered
or is inaccessible since backing up.
