Turn on the L1 + L2 caches in the BIOS.  Having them off will make it very slow.

This Dell Dimension (Celeron 700) is slower than a P166. I can't figure out why. Configuration is:
I have tried disabling/ enabling various "cache" types via bios, but I am not savy on cache.

Basically machine crawls. What can I check for? alter?
