Upgrade PCI Slots?
I have an IBM Aptiva Model 2163 570, Windows 98 SE. Bios ACER V3.2 66MEN4Q 7/7/99 I installed a Belkin wireless PCI adapter that did not work. Belkins help suggested that I need PCI slot version 2.1 or higher. I had a similar result when I tried to install an ethernet card. I find nothing in the in the machine's system information or in the Belarc Advisor PC Audit about a version of the PCI. Belkins help also suggests I could upgrade my PCI. How does one do that? I tried but IBM does not have an update to my bios. One solution is to get a device that plugs into a recently installed USB port but I would like to look into upgrading my PCI slots.
