Tony,

I would suspect some power condition at the site where you have setup
the computer. I am no fan of Compaq, but their computers are not
normally bad out of the box, especially two in a row. Since you have
invested in a NEW computer, I would invest $80 in a UPS, (uninterrupted
power supply), for the computer. This will condition the power, making it
a constant.

But, then again... you might have gotten into a batch of computers that
where either built by a jerk at the factory or were abused in shipping...<g>

I would try getting a third system and the UPS... at least then you will
know if it is the power. Besides a UPS is an excellent investment to insure
the life of your computer.
