Hello all,

Recently, I've been checking out the Pentium 3's, and I've discovered
that
the price of the Pentium 3 450 is less than that of the Pentium 2 450, which
kind of confused me.

Matthew,

I think that maybe you might've been mistaken on the pricing of the Pentium 3
as compared to the Pentium 2. These are the cheapest prices I saw posted at
www.pricewatch.com: Pentim2 450 ,$425; Pentium 3 450, $472; and the Pentium3
500, $668. These are all for OEM products. But you are right in a sense ---
there isn't much difference in price from a P2 to a P3 in a 450 mgz. The new
P3 has a new set of 70 instructions that focuses on multi-media, especially
sound recognition. I personally just bought an AMD K6-2 450 with 3D Now! for
$220 here locally in Miami. I think that Intel is over priced. Hope that
helped some.
