One important thing about the "L" chips is that, although they do
not provide the extra instructions of an MMX CPU, they DO require the
split voltage of a P55C. So you need a board with on-board voltage
regulation.
The other important thing to know is that the 200+ runs on a 75MHz
bus with a 2x multiplier. So the board you get must support 75MHz
bus speed. I'm sure the FIC PA-2007 does; I don't know about other
boards that people have suggested.
I'm happily running this CPU in an Abit IT5H. It doesn't support
SDRAM, UDMA, or AGP, but it has been totally stable since I
downloaded and flashed a new BIOS from Abit's web site in October.
