I would suggest at this point is disableing the onboard mouse & getting
an expansion board with either a serial port or ps2 port and installing
that to take care of the problem...

If it is an "older" computer, the ribbon cable could be bad. Yes, that
does actually happen.  You would be wise to replace all the ribvbon
