Try this,
Place a clean(formatted)disk in the A: drive then right click on the A:
drive icon,then choose propeties.Press the check now button to start a scan
on that drive.Check the Thorough scan box and check the fix any errors box
also.When it starts,it should check 33 clusters for the system area then
2847 clusters in the data area(total for both).If it stops(like it's
stuck)anywhere during this,your drive is more than likely broken and simply
needs to be replaced.You also should check to see if your drive is set up
for the 1.44meg or another format.Also,it's always good to check the disk
you put in,make sure you can slide open the top of the disk with your
fingers easily and that it slides back.Sometimes,there is something stopping
it from opening and forcing it in to use will break the drive.
