Do you see a thick cursor in the top right corner shortly after a boot?  If
so, press F10 to access the Compaq diagnostic/setup partition and see if you
can run some diagnostics.  Maybe it's a virus affecting the boot sector.
Maybe you need to re-sys your drive.  What happens when you boot with a
clean floppy?
