Sounds like it is a memory leak from one of the programs, however, you
mentioned that it only started when you installed the new ram, try pulling
it out and run different programs and shut them down and see if it leaks
with the ram removed first, if it does then its definetly not the new ram,
if it doesnt, I would try reseating the ram or going with a different brand
perhaps. Windows has really never managed the ram resources very well until
XP came out, however thats a different subject..LOL
Good Luck

Subject: [PCBUILD] Memory Problem

I recently had more RAM installed and now have 320MB. Ihave a Pentium 3 450
13 GBcomputer. But now the computer only has about 71% free when fresh boot
is done and gradually diminsishes through out the day. Sometimes going so
low that computer freezes on shutdown. Lastnight only had 33% free before
shutting down. Had not run any large programs, basically only the internet.
Have taken all programs off the task bar that aren't required on startup. I
hope someone can give me a clue as to what is happening. I didn't have the
problem prior to getting the new RAM and it was tested as being good.

Thanks Sue
