Barry Marx wrote, in part:

One of the approaches I have considered is getting a
POST diagnostic card.
Does anybody on the list use these and find them
helpful? If so, are there
any specific brands/models you would recommend?

In addition to the recommendations made by Bob Wright and Carlos
Cordeiro, I would also suggest the following site for "Post" cards and
diagnostic utilities. Http://www.datadepot.com These folks have many
goodies for testing Com Ports, Memory and CPU's

Sincerely,

Frank Suszka
