I'm new to using 'NT' (been using 9X for quite a while) & have heard
it's more particular about 'hardware' than 9X.
I'm using an FIC-PA2007 m/b with an AMD-K6 300 (not 3D) CPU & a Matrox
millenium video card., & I had problems installing NT workstation).
After several attempts (after re-boot it kept reporting problems with
file 'ati.sys' - strange as I don't have an ATI card) I suceeded by
selecting the 640*480 option (NOT auto detect) for install.
I have since installed 'SP4' & now some s/w will not install
(Office'97-OK, Outlook'98-OK, BUT IE4-NOT & Adaptec CDR s/w-NOT) - I
tried downloading the latest drivers from 'Matrox' & noticed the
warning that their NT drivers only work with intel processors - I took
this to mean 'NON ALPHA etc.' - but on trying to install the driver,
it fails....

Could my problems be due to my NON-Intel CPU ?
