No, you have not damaged anything. I don't think clearing CMOS will help
either.  You will need to make the correct settings in the Bios.  Relax and
do a little research.

Go to Anandtech.com forum under overclockers. Its a free membership. Join
and search for your processor topics. I do not have your mobo but I have
read about the problems you are describing.
You will be able to make the correct settings and will have a really nice
system.
