I recently got a Session Manager Initialization failure BSOD on a Windows
2K Pro box.
The box was rebooting after a sudden lightning-induced power failure. A
second, longer-lasting failure kept me from trying again for several hours,
and when I got back to it (and the power was stable) it booted just fine.

Have you tried a full power off and wait at least 30 seconds? I know it's
not much of a fix, but if it corrects the problem....
