Hi:

I received a PCI SCSI card without documentation and I would like to learn: (1) who the card maker is, and (2) where I can obtain the manual.

The SCSI card has a 68-pin connector and is made in Taiwan. I don't see any FCC numbers. The PCB states it is a MERCER B355C, and the chipset states, as follows:

   TolerANT
   NCR
   53C810
   609-0391399
   XP05457
   9420N

All I have found was SYMBIOS LOGIC's general information about the 53C810 chipset and generic drivers. A previous search on MERCER produced nothing.

I plugged this SCSI card into a bare system (motherboard & video only) but I cannot get into the card's BIOS setup. Termination "looks" proper and I tried it with a known working Quantum SCSI HDD.

On screen I get:

NCR SDMS v3.0 PCI SCSI BIOS PCI Rev. 2.0
   Copyright 1993 NCR
   NCRPCI04-3.07.00

and then it locks up. I need the manual to troubleshoot the configuration and determine whether the board is functional.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

John Chin
