My son passed on to me  desktop I built a few years back using the ASUS P4P800 Deluxe MB with a Gigabyte AGP 8X video card.  I'm trying to check it out to see if it is salvageable for my wife's writing chores.  When I turn it on I see the LED that indicates it is accessing the HD but nothing appears on the monitor and never hear any beeps from the post process.  The access light goes off but nothing ever appears on the monitor.  Does this mean the MB is toast?  The machine sat in a closet for about 1 1/2 years, some dust but not water etc..  The MB battery is reading 3V under no load with a DMM.  Also the CD-ROM drive light is blinking.
