is the drives on a ultra ata100 card because i get the same problem with my maxtor 80gb hard drive when i changed from the card to the IDE slots on the motherbord it worked fine  but i think the drive is bad because its started up agine and i've built a new pc and now im waiting for a prossor fan to test to see if the problem comes back
