Good Morning Neal,

I set up my multi-boot system (Windows 98, Windows 2ooo, Red Hat Linux,
BeOS) using PowerQuest's PartitionMagic, and everything runs smoothly.

Would you please explain to me what you mean by "load(ing win 2k inside win
98) ???  I'm unfamiliar with this terminology and method of setting up a
dual-boot system and would like to learn more about it.

By the way, Windows 2ooo does feel very solid and seems generally much
faster at doing most tasks than Windows 98.  It is however significantly
slower at processing SETI@home work units than Windows 98.  This issue has
been discussed often in SETI@home user's forums, but no one (to my
knowledge) has yet come up with a reasonable explanation of why it is so.

Can you (or anybody else) tell me why ???

    Load Windows 98 first, then load win 2k inside win 98 and choose a clean
    install. Win 2k will automatically set up a dual boot menu. Just did it
    not long ago, works quite well. You will soon leave win 98 alone. Win 2k
    is great.
