Hugh:
No more power to that machine until you:
1) Check for screws or other metal debris on or under the PCB!
IMPORTANT!
2) Recheck the components, SDRAMs are NOTORIOUS for not seating
properly. Sometimes the pcb has to be out on a flat surface to get them
in. SIMMS are very easy to get just a bit cocked when you insert at
that angle.
3) Check to see that the AC is plugged in tightly, The change in
position could cause the cable to move just enough...
4) With the case standing up... One at a time, GENTLY flex the cables,
particularly power, in the direction that gravity takes them when you
lay the case down. If you can boot up while you're holding a cable,
that may be the one.
Be sure that checking a cable means that you took it off and reinstalled
it. Often this will take care of it and you may never know for sure
what prevented it from working. Classify it as a glitch and carry on.
Hope this helps.
