If your I/O card has two channels (count the connectors) for IDE drives
then you can easily add a second HD.  With a CD-ROM drive, I would
recommend that you connect the HDs as master/slave on the primary
channel and put the CD-ROM drive alone on the secondary channel.  You
should realize that now matter how you connect these devices then your
CD-ROM drive letter will change unless you specified a drive letter
beyond the range of the number of partitions on your hard drives.

If you only have one channel on the I/O controller then you can't add a
second hard drive unless you add another I/O controller or replace your
existing one with a controller that does have two channels.  It won't be
easy finding a VL-Bus controller these days.  If you have an open 16 bit
slot, then this would work.  Another alternative is to replace your
existing hard drive with a larger one, assuming the newer controller
will accomodate a larger drive.  Good luck in any case.
