I came into possession of a NEC XM-2950, but upon seeing all the connecting options (and switches and settings) on the back, I would have thought this thing could have gone up in the space shuttle except it is so heavy. I tried a cable I had but the connector on the computer end did not match up to my feeble ole eMachines D2880 monitor connection.

All I want to do is use the existing connections on the back of my eMachines computer and get the monitor to show me the nice colors from the internet. I understand that this monitor can do so much more (and certainly any input on what I would have to do to access those features would be appreciated) but what do I need to just make it work like a dumb monitor just like I use now, except much bigger?

Bonus information on using the speakers et all would be great.

Bruce
