Can a P5-60 mhz machine accept a 56k modem ?

IF it's a PCI-Modem, no. A 133/166 is min for them. If its not a PCI,
possible.

I have a 166 MMX O/Ced to 200. Tried a 56k flex Action Media Combo card.
166 min req'd. Got sound, but MB would never connect modem to line no
matter what I tried. Finally went back to PnP 33.6, then it got fried in
a lightning strike. Now I'm using an external 14.4 until I receive my
"new" 33.6.
I'm going to wait until I upgrade cpu speed before I go for 56k.
When ever that is. :)
