I have a 6 Gig drive (about six years old) with three partitions - Windows,
Applications, and Data.

I bought a 30 gig drive today - Maxtor Diamond max Plus - Ultra ATA/133.

I want to use the new drive as my boot drive and the old drive for Linux

So here is my approach - I need verification that I am on the right track

1) Install the new drive as a slave

2) Make three partitions on it and format them. First partition would be
formatted as system drive.

3) Do a total copy of each old partition to the corresponding new partition
(I need a suggestion on what program to use to do this)

4) Change old drive from master to slave

5) Change new drive from slave to master

6) Hopefully, reboot system

7) install Linux on old drive

Should a do a new install of Windows and update from the Windows site
instead of moving the Windows partition to the new drive?

Am i on the right track?

Thanks
Preston
