        Which processors are you using?
        I am not sure what you mean, do you mean it increases TO 40 degrees C
during operation? If so this is completely normal, and actually on the cool
side for today's processors. In this case you don't need to "cool it down".
        If OTOH you are saying it is increasing BY 40 degrees C above ambient then
that would put it at about 65 degrees C, definitely on the high side. In
this case I suggest installing an additional fan, or replacing yours with a
better one.
