Hello all. Here is my dilemma. Upgrading my son's 3 year old Emachine box,
model T1100. The motherboard is AN810 (E). Don't know if that will
help...I'm sure it's a proprietary system. So here is the issue. The mb has
onboard video but I disabled it 3 years ago before first use. Used a nvidia
geforce 2 pci card which has worked flawlessly. 13 yr. old son has now
became a gamer...complaining about graphics...so I got a ATI Radeon 9250 pci
card. It was Christmas eve..going on about 4 hours sleep..thought I knew my
stuff. I took out old card..put in new card..plugged up..nothing.
So THEN decided to read the ATI manual. It said to remove old drivers before
removing card...then reboot. So I did that...now neither card will work.
Later found out I should have done the reboot manually...not let windows do
it. To add to my failures I got so desperate I put in my WinXP pro disk
thinking it would "fix" it. Now not only can't get to desktop but it keeps
going to XP setup (which is actually repair)....then it can't find a
file..think it's 386 something.

Can anybody help me? My son is so disappointed as this was a big part of
his Christmas.

Thanks,

Jimi
