Well Don if you have the experience you could connect his old hard dirve as
a slave onto the new system and then move the files using windows Explorer.
Just remember to change the jumper at the back of the hard drive each time
you move it back and forth from the machines.
You could Zip some groups of files and use email transfers...but then that
would depend on the speed of his internet service. And some programs need
to be directly 'installed' rather than just copied so try and find any
documentation.
