It looks as though your McAfee has got corrupted and is unable to run its
scan at startup. This is blocking Windows from loading.

If you can get back to the boot menu, click on option3 (Safe Mode). If that
will open, see if you can disable McAfee from running its scan at
startup. You might be able to do this by running msconfig (Start
Menu/Run/msconfig), go to the Startup tab and untick anything to do with
McAfee. Otherwise you should be able to do it via McAfee's control panel.

If you have made regular registry backups (essential for W98) then do a
registry restore while still in Safe Mode. Otherwise, you may have to
reformat your hard drive and reinstall Windows.

Or, from the boot menu, if you can bring up the Command Prompt (option 5),
just type Win, hit enter, and see what happens. With luck, Windows will
proceed to load.

Reboot as normal, then reinstall McAfee. There's no real need for it to run
a scan at every bootup unless you have a lot of strangers using your
computer or unless you're browsing in high-risk areas.
