Hi Bob

I don't think there are any dual boards based on the i815 chipset.
(I may be wrong, but I don't think the chipset officially supports
SMP. I seem to recall some manufacturer kludging a dual board
from the chipset but I don't know if I'd feel real confident
about its stability.)

There are dual boards based on the i840 chipset. Possibly
the best PIII systems use chipsets made by
<http://www.serverworks.com/frames/prodLE_frame.html>.

Don't discount the Intel 440BX chipset. (There are slotket
that will convert FCPGA to slot one and support SMP.) Some of the
most stable boards are based on the BX chipset. I have three
systems using BX based Asus P2B-D ...two dual 800 systems and a
dual 600 system. I'm thinking about upgrading one of them to
dual 1000.)

I'd suggest you check out http://www.2cpu.com/hardware.htm
for their reviews. The name of the website explains their
raison d'etre.

Regards,
Bill
