Hi,

According to this webpage,
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/printers/support_doc/bpd07683.html#P142_4564
an updated driver will not be produced and MOST of the listed models
are on your 98 CD. It also indicates for drivers NOT on the 1st ed.
98CD you'll need to install Win98 updates from Microsoft's Update site.

With that said, I loaded the 520 driver on my test system to verify the
results, which loaded correctly from a 98SE CD.

You probally already know this, but just in case; be sure to delete
your "bad" driver prior to loading from the 98CD. Then after going thru
the motions for adding printer be sure to select the option for
choosing a driver from the list which shows all makes. If you do not
select choose from list, you will only see a short list of drivers most
"compatible" with your system based on your previous installs. This is
the listing that shows dates next to the driver name. Don't use these
since they will just reload the same files.

So to summarize, for a fresh load of the HP 520 driver for Win98 delete
old 520 print drivers first. Then add printer as normal, but select
from the list of all print drivers. Win98SE definitely lists the
driver, but 1st ed. 98 may require a update first.

hope this helps
